The Vidyalaya has a well stacked library with nearly 40,000 volumes of books. The library is put to full use. Students are encouraged to read books and (asked to) record what they read and understood from the contents of the books (their understanding) in special sheets provided to them for the purpose. The result is very encouraging and a healthy competition among students in reading more and more books is perceptible.
While students of UKG to Std.III read the books in their own classrooms with the active supervision and guidance of the teacher, all students from Std.IV to Std.X are allowed to take the books home for reading. If the student finishes reading the book within the stipulated 15 days he can return it and take home the next book and so on. In case of their being unable to read the book within the given time they are free to get an extension.
